Sedtal Rodent Rescue is a small animal rescue located in southern Illinois. We take in rats, mice, hamsters, and gerbils who have found themselves in need of a home. We believe that small pets deserve responsible, lifelong care just as much as dogs or cats do, and it is our goal to find that perfect home for each animal we take in.
All of our foster animals are treated as our own as long as they are here. After a minimum four-week quarantine, they are housed in the main part of our home and receive daily interaction. They live in spacious homes with plenty to do. They are fed a homemade diet customized to their species and their individual needs. They receive vet care whenever they need it. This is the priciest part of rescuing animals. Whether it's treating a respiratory illness, removing a tumor, or stitching up a wound, vet care is never denied. We are very lucky to have a fantastic vet nearby who takes excellent care of our animals and doesn't charge an arm and a leg to do so!
If you are interested in adopting one of our fosters, please fill out an application and e-mail it to srr@srr-rescue.org. I will get to it as soon as possible, usually the same day it is sent, and will most likely either approve or deny it within a couple of days.
